Chris Veno co-founded Trion Group, a Marsh & McLennan Agency, LLC Company, in 1999. Trion grew to be the country’s largest privately-held employee benefits broker, consultant and administrator prior to its acquisition by Marsh & McLennan in 2010. He currently serves as Trion’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, and is a member of the Marsh & McLennan Agency leadership team. Before forming Trion, Chris was a principal of one of its predecessor businesses from 1994-1999.
Chris is a founding member of the Philadelphia Leadership Network of CUA alumni. He sits on the board of trustees of the Montgomery School, an independent K-8 academic institution in suburban Philadelphia, and is a past board member of the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia.
Chris’s business interests extend beyond the employee benefits industry, and he is a founding principal of Montelena Capital Partners, a private equity company focused on growth investments in B-to-B service companies. Chris strongly believes in the ability of business to create lasting value within the community, and is a partner in the Porter Group and the Conscious Venture Lab, both of which focus on transforming capitalism to a force for good. He also is an active angel, and enjoys investing in real estate.
Chris was raised in Scranton, PA, and graduated with a BA from CUA in 1986, where he was a four-year letterman on the university's football team. He earned his MBA from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia in 1990. Chris, his wife, Meg, and their five children reside on a centuries-old farm in Malvern, PA.
