Rick Westerman – Accounting Lecturer

Mr. Westerman is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and is certified in Financial Forensics. Rick has significant accounting operations, internal control over financial reporting and automated systems expertise, providing forensic accounting and litigation support in both corporate and consultancy roles. He has provided litigation support services to a wide variety of public and private clients. Mr. Westerman specializes in forensic examination using data mining techniques. He has assisted clients with complex trust litigation, employee theft investigations, and various breach of trust actions.

As a former Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Westerman directed accounting operations and financial reporting of Rowe Furniture, Inc., a U.S. manufacturer employing 1,800 with annual revenues of $180 million. He also held roles as V.P. and Corporate Controller, and Director of Internal Audit. Mr. Westerman has significant experience with development and implementation of internal control structures and complex enterprise wide computer systems.

Mr. Westerman graduated from Roanoke College with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Concentration in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the American Bar Association, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He has held committee memberships with the AICPA Relations with the Bar.
