Elizabeth is responsible for Employee learning and Development for 50,000 Southwest Airlines’ Employees. She provides strategic direction and oversight for companywide leadership development, new hire onboarding and technical skills training. She oversees training and development for Customer Relations, Customer Support & Services, Ground Operations, Inflight, Labor, Provisioning, Source of Support, Technical Operations, Dispatch and Technology.
Since joining Southwest Airlines in 1997, Elizabeth has served in various leadership roles including Manager of Leadership Development, Director of Leadership Development, Senior Director of Talent Development, and Managing Director of Training. During her time at Southwest, she has led many training initiatives including Performance Management, SAP implementation, and AirTran Integration. Prior to Southwest, Elizabeth taught business communication courses at Indiana University and College of San Mateo.
Elizabeth holds an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from California State University Sacramento and a Masters in Speech Communication from Indiana University.
Elizabeth and her husband Torry live in Dallas and have three young children, Connor, Regan, and Audrey. In addition to participating in the BOV for CUA, Elizabeth is on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
